The degree of periodontitis. Causes and Symptoms
What is periodontal disease
Periodontitis is a complex infectious disease of periodontal disease, with such a disease there is bleeding gums with the formation of abscesses and abscesses. The consequence of infection in the root system of the teeth is the widening of the spaces between the teeth and their loss. Periodontitis is not an independent disease, as a rule, it appears due to malfunctions in the endocrine system. Therefore, periodontitis is treated in a complex manner. Patient and zealous treatment will necessarily give good results: after restoration, normalization of thyroid hormones and cure of chronic tonsillitis, sinusitis and other diseases, as a rule, there comes a certain remission of periodontitis. Combined with therapeutic treatment, the dental treatment of the disease is used, such as gum massage.
The cause of periodontitis
The main cause of periodontitis is bacterial plaque, which is constantly created on teeth. If the plaque is not removed, it eventually hardens and turns into tartar. Next is the destruction of tissues that hold the tooth. As a result, a gap is formed between the tooth and the gum, into which the dental plaque begins to clog. The root of the tooth, under the constant pressure of the destructive forces of caries, begins to move with time. The more advanced the disease, the more likely that the teeth will fall out. Therefore, never start dental treatment, even if you do not like dentists: there are absolutely painless and effective methods of dental treatment, as well as dental treatment with folk remedies.
If dental plaque destroys only the mucous membrane, the disease is called gingivitis. This is the first stage of periodontal disease. More progressive stages are already called dental periodontitis. Periodic symptoms of periodontitis
Periodontitis of mild degree: you will have itching, pulsation in the gums, unpleasant odor from the mouth, inconvenience in chewing.
Periodontitis of moderate severity: the supporting apparatus of the tooth begins to loosen, the teeth are mobile, the sensitivity of the teeth increases. Moreover, the gingiva often bleeds, especially during brushing, swelling, inflamed.
Periodontal disease of severe degree: pronounced pain syndrome. There is a malaise, the body temperature increases, chewing becomes more difficult. The teeth are greatly displaced from their rows, and some begin to fall out.
The degree of periodontitis
The degree of periodontitis is usually determined by the depth of the periodontal pocket, the degree of bone resorption and the mobility of the teeth .
Periodontitis of mild degree is characterized by a lack of mobility in the teeth, the depth of the periodontal pocket is up to 3.5 mm. The height of the interdental partitions is reduced by not more than 1/3 of their length.
Parodontitis of moderate severity is characterized by the presence of mobility in the teeth of the 1-2 degree, as a result of which the teeth can move, creating gaps. The depth of the periodontal pocket is up to 5 mm, pus begins to flow from it. The height of the interdental partitions decreases to 1/2 of their length.
Periodontitis of severe degree is characterized by the presence of a 2-3 degree of mobility of teeth, which causes a complete defect in the dentition. There is a constant suppuration from the periodontal pocket, the depth of which is already 6 mm. The height of the interdental partitions decreases by more than 1/2 of their length.
