Measures to prevent parasitic invasion

Preventing parasites is the observance of a set of measures aimed at preventing their entry into the body. It is possible that some recommendations, for example, regular hand washing, may seem trivial. Nevertheless, it is the failure to comply with the rules of personal hygiene often leads to the development of parasitic diseases.

Treatment of food and water:

  • For decontamination of vegetables, fruits, herbs from helminths, it is necessary to pre-soak in water for a period of 20 to 30 minutes, followed by washing products under running water for 5 minutes.

  • All the greens must be thoroughly cleaned from the soil, disassembled by leaves, feathers and stems. You can wash the greens in a soap solution and rinse it in running water. As for berries with lobed or rough structure (strawberries, raspberries, strawberries), they should be washed in soda solution 1.0% concentration, and then rinse with clean water. The additional method of vegetable disinfection is their treatment with a weak iodine solution (0.2%).

  • For cleaning and disinfection of drinking water water from the parasites at the water treatment plants there are specialized instruments. It is assumed that in the houses the water must come clean. However, if there is any doubt about its quality, the most reliable method of disinfecting water is boiling.

  • Thorough heat treatment of meat and fish. So, parts of carcass or pork carcasses should be divided into small pieces, not more than 8 cm in thickness and boiled for 2.5-3 hours. Fish should be cooked for at least 20 minutes, if it is a question of crushed carcasses, and not less than 30-40 minutes if the fish is cooked in its entirety. To rid fish of larvae of larvae (some kinds of fish are infected with them in 80-100% of cases), it can be thoroughly frozen at a temperature of not less than 12 degrees Celsius. For river fish (ruff, pike, burbot, perch, etc.), the freezing time is at least 72 hours. For salmon, grayling, peljada, omul, char, the freezing time should be at least 60 hours. To disinfect ketu, pink salmon, taimen and other large marine fish, it must be kept at a temperature of 15 degrees for at least 50 hours.

  • To destroy the larvae of opisthorchids and other trematodes, the fish should be kept at a temperature of minus 28 degrees for at least 32 hours. Helps in fighting some parasites of salting fish. The same applies to caviar.

  • The purchase of any foodstuffs must be carried out in the places of authorized trade. Only there sellers have all the necessary quality certificates (it is obliged to provide them at the first request of the buyer), and only in this way can reduce the risks of acquiring contaminated products.

  • You should not eat raw dairy products because they can contain dangerous parasites and bacteria.

  • You can not drink water from open sources. It is extremely undesirable to drink drinks sold on the street for bottling.

  • It is important to teach your children to wash their hands after a walk, after going to the toilet, after contacting animals, before each meal. Naturally, adults should not forget about washing their hands. If you do not have the opportunity to wash your hands after visiting public places, you can use special antiseptic and antibacterial gels and compounds. They allow you to eliminate parasites on your hands with a probability of up to 98 – 100%. However, one should not get too carried away by such means and use them very often, so as not to disturb your own microflora.

  • It is also important to keep cleanliness in the house, conduct daily wet cleaning with floor cleaning and disposal of household items from dust accumulation. It’s good to use not a broom, but a vacuum cleaner to process the carpets and upholstered furniture.

  • All baby toys must be kept clean. So, soft toys are processed using a vacuum cleaner, or they are stretched in a washing machine at high temperatures. Other toys made of plastic, wood, metal, rubber, etc., should be washed in a basin with a soapy solution. The procedure for processing objects with which the child interacts must be performed at least once in 30 days.

  • It is necessary to wean children from a bad habit to gnaw their nails, lick their fingers, take any foreign objects into their mouths. Statistics indicate that the habit of nibble nails is present in 25% of young people and in 45% of adolescents. Therefore, this problem is relevant not only for children.

  • The children need to cut their nails shortly so that dirt does not accumulate under them. Women with manicure need to keep a close eye on the purity of their nails.

  • parasites from pets to humans:

    • All pets must undergo deworming with special medications. They can be purchased at veterinary stores. The course should be repeated 1 time in 3 months.

    • It is important not to let the animal on the bed, on the table, in the places where dishes and food are stored. After cleaning the pet’s home toilet (which should always be kept clean), you should thoroughly wash your hands using soap.

    • The pet’s pet should be in a strictly designated place for this purpose. It is important to monitor the cleanliness of the dishes from which the animal feeds. General recommendations:

      • There should be no insects (flies, mosquitoes, bedbugs, etc.) in the house, Since they are often carriers of parasites. In nature, you should use repellents as much as possible.

      • During the rest you need to bathe exclusively in the places reserved for this purpose. Especially this rule is relevant for tropical countries. It is undesirable to walk barefoot on the beach, do not lie on the sand or on the ground without using bedding.

      • You should not contact street animals, as this can lead to infection.

      • You can not contact people who have signs of parasitic infection (eg scabies).

      • li

Do not use for personal hygiene other people’s accessories.

      • It is important to maintain the immune system of the body as it is responsible for human health in general. Although the prevention of parasites includes a rather impressive list of recommendations, almost all of them are known to every person since childhood. Performing them is not at all difficult, it will be much more difficult to get rid of parasites in the body if the infection does happen.
