Drug therapy in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease

Selection of drugs is in accordance with the stage of the disease.

In the case of Parkinson’s disease, the following drugs are used in the initial stages :

  • levodopa in combination with carbidopa;

  • Dophaminomimetics;

  • Amantadine

  • Catechin-O-methyltransferase inhibitors

  • Anticholinergics

  • Inhibitors of monoamine oxidase-B.
